Just over 5 miles from St Fillans, there is the Royal Hotel.  Named by Queen Victoria this hotel offers a lovely restaurant and bar.   In the heart of Comrie and with easy parking, the Royal famously, hosts a Gala Dinner on Hogmany (New Year) prior to the famous ‘Flambeaux’ the traditional fire ceremony seeing out the old year and welcoming in the new.

The Royal has a good local reputation for fine food in its restaurant and bar. Chef Patron David Milsom has been awarded an AA rosette for his innovative but traditionally styled food. This is complemented by an award winning wine list chosen by manager Jerry Milsom. What luxury hotel in Scotland would be complete without a generous selection of malt whiskies? The Royal has a selection of over one hundred different types to tempt you!

The restaurant itself is an embodiment of the Hotels charm, comfort and elegance. As we are a small hotel our staff are drawn locally from Comrie itself which lends a genuine Scottish ambiance to the atmosphere. During the summer, the walled garden with its al fresco tables makes the perfect place for Pimms and a light salad. Whilst the Lounge Bar with its clubby atmosphere is always a winner for a light lunch with friends. During Winter the glorious crackling log fire and the aroma of mulled wine offer a perfect respite after walking in the glens on a crisp frosty day.
